2022年6月，由我中心金强研究员和巴基斯坦国立科技大学人文社会科学学院传播系阿里夫助理教授合作的《翻越喀喇昆仑：中巴学者摄影对话集》，由巴中环球出版社出版，并于近日发行。该书出版得到了河北大学跨文化传播研究中心、河北大学伊合组织研究中心的资助，并得到了河北大学新闻传播学院、巴基斯坦国立科技大学人文社会科学学院的大力支持。
摄影集由巴基斯坦国立科技大学人文社会科学学院中国学研究中心主任赛义德·哈桑·贾维德和我中心主任白贵教授共同作序，并得到了李毅博士和海德尔博士在翻译上的帮助。这部摄影对话集在策划之初是为庆祝中巴建交70周年而作。
《翻越喀喇昆仑：中巴学者摄影对话集》，是河北大学跨文化传播研究中心金强副教授和巴基斯坦国立科技大学人文社会科学学院传播系阿里夫助理教授合作的一部摄影集，摄影集所选取的照片均为两人的原创作品。金强副教授于2014年5月和2019年3月，两次赴巴基斯坦进行学术考察，期间拍摄照片超过了一万幅，此集优选了数百幅。阿里夫助理教授曾于2012年至2019年在中国的河北大学新闻传播学院攻读新闻传播学博士学位，在中国读书期间，他广泛社交，游览了中国的许多省份，并用镜头记录了他眼中的中国，此集也精选了上百幅。除了图片记录外，对话文字也集中表达了两人对两国多方面的细致观察和独特感悟。
全书为中英文对照版（重要信息加注乌尔都语），共采用图片668幅，分为巴基斯坦部分和中国部分，以及自然风光、建筑、雕塑、人物、食物、动物、活动与仪式、书店、商店、街景、大学、车站、交通工具、工艺、美术及图案等具体单元，基本上相对全景式地呈现了两国在最近十年的自然景观、人文环境、社会景象、生活方式以及艺术审美等。
该书是第一次以中英文对照和中巴两国对照的方式，呈现两国深层文化机理与风土人情，同时也是自“一带一路”倡议提出以来中巴两国民心与文化相通的见证。
A Photographic Dialogues Collection between Researcher Jin Qiang and Dr Arif Was Published and Released
In June 2022, Beyond the Karakoram: A Photographic Dialogue between a Chinese and a Pakistani Scholar, a collaboration between Researcher Jin Qiang and Assistant Professor Muhammad Arif from the Department of Mass Communication, School of Social Sciences & Humanities (S3H), National University of Science and Technology, Pakistan (NUST), was published by Pakistan China Global Publishing House and recently released. The publication was funded by the Intercultural Communication Research Centre of Hebei University (ICRC, HBU) and the Research Center for Organization of Islamic Cooperation at HBU, and supported by the School of Journalism and Communication (SJC) of HBU and the S3H in NUST.
The photographic dialogue collection was prefaced by Syed Hasan Javed, Director (retired ambassador) of Chinese Studies Centre at the S3H in NUST, and Prof.Bai Gui, Director of ICRC, with the help of Dr.Li Yi and Dr.Ghulam Hyder in translation. This collection was initially planned to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.
Beyond the Karakoram: A Photographic Dialogue between a Chinese and a Pakistani Scholar is a collaboration between Researcher Jin of ICRC in HBU and Assistant Professor Arif of S3H in NUST. Jin made two academic trips to Pakistan in May 2014 and March 2019, during which he took over 10,000 photographs, of which hundreds were selected for this collection. Arif studied for his PhD in Journalism and Communication at SJC of HBU from 2012 to 2019. During his time in China, he socialised extensively, visited many of the provinces and documented his vision of China through his lens, with hundreds of images also selected for this collection. In addition to the photographic recordings, the conversational text focuses on the two scholar's detailed observations and unique perceptions of the many facets of the two countries.
The collection is available in English and Chinese (with important information in Urdu) and features 668 images, divided into a Pakistani section and a Chinese section, as well as specific units on nature, architecture, sculpture, people, food, animals, events and rituals, bookshops, shops, street scenes, universities, stations, transport, crafts, art and patterns, providing an essentially panoramic view of the two countries in the last decade.
It is the first time that the book presents the deep cultural mechanisms and customs of both countries in English and Chinese, and it is also a testimony to the connectivity about people-to-people and culture-to-culture exchanges between China and Pakistan since the launch of the Belt and Road Initiative.
